i’m more on my other blog bright-new-dawn atm sigh
Apparently there are bronies out there that are angry that girls/women like My Little Pony. Because they think they are faking their interest in it/don’t love it as much as them.
They’re applying the “fake gamer/geek girl” stereotype onto the audience the show was intended for.
And if you don’t think that’s the most hilarious shit idk if we can be friends.
hahahaHAHAHAHAHA that’s actually really, really depressing.
I’m a female cosplayer and artist who enjoys MLP, and so far, I’ve never gotten any bad treatment from male bronies. In fact, when I went to a con cosplaying one of the MLP characters, they were downright polite and kind to me. When I draw MLP fanart, I get nice comments from guy bronies about how they like it.
There’s definitely a bad side to the fandom, as there is to any fandom. But this, this…This is truly disappointing. I don’t doubt that it’s true.
It’s actually kind of ashaming to say I’m a brony with the way that some of our fandom acts. And it’s really a huge shame, because we have the potential to be a really cool fandom! We have amazing artists, cosplayers, writers and musicians from all over the world who make the most incredible contributions and take pride in calling themselves bronies/pegasisters.
It’s just sad to see how the MLP fandom is regarded as because of the bronies who consider themselves “true fans!!11!!” because of their gender, age, obsession, etc.
Do not identify yourself. Anonymous gives you the option of being 100% truthful — I don’t care if you like me or you dislike me. If you have negative feelings toward me, tell me why. I’m curious to know what people have to say when there’s no chance of being judged.
